Many aspects of our "modern" lifestyle create stress. As a result, stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline) are released in the body and the sympathetic nervous system runs at full speed. Actually, the original idea of this part of the autonomic nervous system is to enable us to escape from an enemy (e.g. wild animals). Nowadays, the sympathetic nervous system is often constantly activated, even though we are sitting in front of our computer or just going to work. It is therefore necessary to restore balance in the autonomic nervous system by calming the sympathetic nervous system and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for relaxation). And this is exactly what happens in an APM treatment by balancing Yin and Yang. To lower the stress level, the Yin energy is strengthened by stimulating the Yin meridians with the massage stick. In addition, so called Yin lines are very beneficial. This involves gently stroking the area of the Yin meridians with the flat of the hand for a longer period of time. It is not uncommon for the client to fall asleep during this process. This treatment is suitable for anyone who wants to give their body and mind some inner peace and relaxation.
